Midnight Madness

Anyone else in this class working over 30 hours a week while going to school full time? I enjoy McCoy's writing class, but it seems that I always tend to push off the work until the day or two before it is due. I spend Monday nights on math, Tuesday nights on chemistry, work on Wednesday nights, Thursday is my day off, and work Friday-Sunday. Somewhere in between Friday-Sunday after work I manage to get all my writing done. One plus side of procrastinating is that work gives me a lot of time to think about things while I'm bored or doing mindless chores for the bo$$. When I come home I feel like I have come up with so many great ideas throughout the day and it's easier for me to write after a whole day of thinking. The hardest part about doing any sort of writing work is sitting down and saying to yourself "I'm going to do this." I feel like free writing is something we should have learned long ago because that technique really gets all of my papers started, how about yours?

  1. I completely agree with you. I also procrastinate and I find that it actually works out in my favor for free writing. It allows me to right a lot more, because I already had a full day, therefore having a lot to free write about.

  3. Yes I completely understand. I work a 35 hour part time job and I am a full time student. And sometimes i feel likes its too much for me to handle. I try not to stress at work because my job includes ear piercing customers, and I don't want to mess that up. What I usually do is do the HW that's due early in the week. And then somehow I end up doing my English essays on Sundays at 11:00 p.m.
